Your hot-air balloon experience with Air Touraine

1. Welcome and preparation

Flights take place at sunrise or sunset, when weather conditions are most favorable. Departing from AMBOISE, you will be met by our team who will take you to the take-off site (CHENONCEAU or CHAUMONT SUR LOIRE), close to the famous Loire castles. After a detailed safety briefing, you'll take part in preparing the balloon, including inflating the envelope - a fascinating stage when the balloon gradually takes shape.

2. Boarding and take-off

Once the balloon is ready, you'll board the basket with our experienced pilot. Take-off is smooth, offering you a peaceful transition from ground to air. Before you know it, you'll be marvelling at the panoramic views as you fly over the region's picturesque landscapes and historic landmarks.

3. Theft

For around an hour, you'll sail with the wind, enjoying a breathtaking view of the treasures of Touraine. Our pilot will share with you anecdotes and information about the sites overflown, enriching your experience. You may be lucky enough to brush against the treetops or catch a glimpse of local wildlife in its natural habitat.

Landing and celebration

The landing is made gently on a suitable field, chosen according to the prevailing conditions. After helping to fold the balloon, a convivial tradition awaits you: the balloonist's toast. Over a glass of champagne, you'll share your impressions and emotions with the other passengers and crew. Finally, our team will take you back to the departure point by 4x4.

• Flying season: April to October (possible all year round depending on weather conditions)
• Weather conditions: In the event of inclement weather, you will be informed in advance and a new date will be proposed.
